MOUNT PULASKI -- Ralph C. Buckles, 83, of Mount Pulaski, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 7:05 p.m. at the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with John Robertson officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, Latham.

Mr. Buckles was a retired farmer.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.

He was born Jan. 29, 1921, at Latham to Oran and Dora May Howe Buckles. He married Norma Swisher on Oct. 4, 1946. She died April 27, 2002.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Ann Gruen of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeanne Lynn Malone of Mount Pulaski; two grandsons, Bradley (and Merica) Gruen of Tulsa, Okla., and Zachary Malone of Mount Pulaski; one granddaughter, Kimberly (and Monty) Staggs of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one great-grandson, Cale Gruen of Tulsa, Okla.; and one brother, Lester (and Helen) Buckles of Mount Zion.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sonda Buckles Gardner; two brothers; and one sister.

He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church, Mount Pulaski VFW Post 777 and was on the board of the Farmers Grain Elevator.

He served as a justice of the peace in Logan County.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Marcella Hassebrock, 88, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 2:20 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Hassebrock was a homemaker.

She was born March 10, 1916, at Andrew to Thomas and Mary Shyner Clancy. She married Vernon Hassebrock in Springfield on Dec. 22, 1951.

She is survived by her husband and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski and a two-term past president of the Mount Pulaski Women's Club.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski or the American Cancer Society.

WAYNESVILLE -- Mamie L. Summers, 79, of Waynesville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 2:07 p.m. at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, where she had resided since April 30, 2004.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Maurice Stribling officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Mrs. Summers was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 28, 1925, at Waynesville to Samuel and May Grant Baker. She married Carl "Dusty" Summers on Jan. 14, 1945, at Waynesville. He died Oct. 14, 2002.

She is survived by three children, Dorothy Summers of Bloomington, Steve Summers of Orlando, Fla., and Helen (and Joe) Daugherty, Atlanta; two grandchildren, Kassi (and Kevin) Taylor of Bloomington and Martin (and Charity) Daugherty of Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Erin Whelan of Bloomington; one sister, Lucinda Underwood of Clinton; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Summers of Clinton.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Sam Summers.

She was a graduate of the Waynesville Academy.

She enjoyed cross-stitching and was an avid reader.

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Fire and Rescue Squad.

LINCOLN -- Minnie D. Bryson, 98, formerly of Cornland, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at 8:15 p.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cornland Christian Church, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Miss Bryson was employed by the State Bank of Cornland for 62 years and served as vice president on the board of directors.

She was born May 19, 1906, west of Cornland to John Harris and Mary Olive Handlin Bryson.

She is survived by four nieces, Ruth (and Robert) Fuiten of Mount Pulaski, B. Harlean (and Delmar) Veech of Cornland, Carla (and Wayne) Clark of Lake Fork and Sheila (and Kent) Anderson of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; two nephews, John (and Janet) Cherry of Elkhart and Ed (and Marilyn) Cherry of Elkhart; two half nieces, Thelma McKnight of Lincoln and Lois Carole Milner of Chatsworth, Calif.; two half nephews, Edward Day of Green Valley, Ariz., and Keith Day of North Carolina; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, three half brothers and one half sister.

She was a member of the Cornland Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Latham chapter of Eastern Star and a Logan County Farm Bureau member. She was treasurer for the Lake Fork Community Center and was on the board of directors for the Cornland/Lake Fork Water District.

She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville.

ATLANTA -- A memorial service for Howard L. Hieronymus will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Quiram Funeral Home.

Mr. Hieronymus, 53, of East Peoria, formerly of Atlanta, died Jan. 2, 2005, at his home.
