Drama team competes at state       Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 21, 2005]  The Lincoln Community High School drama and group interpretation casts spent this weekend at the IHSA state finals in drama and group interpretation at Southeastern College in Harrisburg.

Lincoln's production of "The Boys Next Door" finished ninth in the state and landed cast members Brady Gerdts and Brandon Davis on the all-state cast for drama. Cast member Eric Knutilla also received votes for the cast. The other cast members included Daniel Ohmart, Tony Curcuru and Janel Filbeck.

The contest play production was directed by Chelsea Cheatham, Jennifer Keith and Darcie Toliver.

The group interpretation's production of "Cheating Lessons" finished third in its preliminary round on Friday and advanced to the final round on Saturday, where they finished sixth in the state. It was Lincoln's first time in the final round since 2002.

Named to the all-state cast in group interpretation were Kassandra Pepperell, Brady Gerdts and Lindsey Boerma. All other members of the cast received at least one vote for the all-state cast, and those individuals include Tom Swanson, Rachel Kasa, Rachel Hahn, Kathryn Muck, Ruth Ohmart, Sonya Twist, Daniel Ohmart, Brandon Davis, Brian Welter, Tony Curcuru and Taylor Muck.

The group interpretation was directed by Ed Jodlowski and Carrie Schreiber. Hannah Synder and Meri Laurence were student directors.
