[MARCH 11, 2005]  LEWISTOWN -- The Hickory Ridge Concert Series at the Dickson Mounds Museum presents Milwaukee folksinger and raconteur Lil Rev on March 19 at 7:30 p.m. Rev is an award-winning master of the harmonica and the ukulele and a witty, engaging performer who is rapidly gaining national attention for entertaining and informative performances.

Lil Rev's shows are fast-paced and fun, covering a wide range of styles, from Stephen Foster songs to Delta Holler Blues to the music of Tin Pan Alley.

He was Hohner's 1996 National Blues Harmonica Champion and was inducted into The Traditional Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2003. He has been described as "an immensely talented and entertaining performer (whose) concise, eloquent and witty introductions add to the fun … (who) knows music, instruments, history, cultures and most of all, how to engage and captivate an audience."

The Hickory Ridge Coffeehouse is hosted by singer-songwriter Chris Vallillo and features a short open mic session before the first set. Coffeehouses are scheduled the third Saturday of every month at Dickson Mounds Museum and begin at 7:30 p.m., with the museum lobby opening at 6:30 p.m. Coffee, drinks, and a variety of desserts are available during intermission. There is an admission charge of $5 per adult, $3 for children under 12. Seating is limited to the first 150 people.
