NEW HOLLAND -- Eldon Chris Puls, 70, of New Holland died
Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006, at 3:20 a.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holland
and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.
There will be a private family service the following day.
Mr. Puls was born and raised on the New Holland farm that
he worked on each day.
He was born July 26, 1935, to Chris and Leona Maaks Puls.
He married Nancy Miller on Jan. 12, 1958, in Lincoln and
together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, of New Holland; one daughter,
Debra Willis of Greenview; three sons, Jeffrey Puls of
Williamsville, Randall (and wife Betty) Puls of Pekin and
Rick (and wife Sarah) Puls of New Holland; three sisters,
Bonnie Raths of Avon, Ind., Dona McLaughlin of Rock Falls,
and Carol Buckles of Suwanee, Ga.; and four grandchildren,
Krystle, Katelyne and Kiefer Willis of Greenview and Nathan
Puls of New Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He proudly raised his four beautiful children on the farm
and taught them the values of good country living. He was a
longtime member of the Logan County Farm Bureau.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or to the
Middletown Rescue Squad and will be accepted at the funeral
home.

Marjorie Bode

McLEAN -- Marjorie E. Bode, 80, of McLean,
died Friday, April 14, 2006, at 1:28 p.m. at BroMenn
Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation was on Monday
at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta. A rosary service followed
the visitation.
Her funeral was Tuesday morning at
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta, with Monsignor Thomas
Maloney officiating.
Burial is in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mrs. Bode was a homemaker.
She was born April 26, 1925, at Lincoln, to
Cletus and Margaret Schmidt Pfeifer. She married Everett
Bode on Nov. 14, 1945, at Lincoln. He survives.
Other survivors are one daughter, Beverly
(and E.J.) Spaulding of McLean; two sisters, Phyllis
Moriearty of Lincoln and Delores McGill of New York; four
grandchildren, Brian and Kris Spaulding and Brett and Angie
Bode; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
One daughter, one son, two sisters and one
brother preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, and the
McLean Ladies Aid.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Community Cancer Center, Normal.
Beverly Raymond

LeROY -- Beverly M. Raymond, 57, of LeRoy, formerly of
Lincoln, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at 8:20 a.m. at
ManorCare Health Services, Normal.
A graveside service was Tuesday morning at Union
Cemetery, Lawndale, with Craig Smith officiating.
There was no visitation.
Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Raymond was a homemaker.
She was born July 1, 1948, at Avon, to Robert and Dorothy
Wolf Fengel. She married Larry M. Raymond on Nov. 19, 1967,
at Greenbush. He died Sept. 30, 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Karenina Raymond of
Joplin, Mo., and LaDawna Raymond of Springfield; four sons,
L. Milan (and Shannan) Raymond Sr. of Chestnut, Reece
Raymond of LeRoy, Chad Raymond of Macomb and Courtney (and
Heather) Raymond of Lincoln; one brother, David L. Fengal of
Oquawka; and six grandchildren.
She was a member of the LeRoy Christian Church.

LINCOLN -- Vera Mae Wade Vincent, 90, of Lincoln died
Thursday, April 13, 2006, at 8:15 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care
Centre in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holland and
Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Kurt Smith officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home two hours prior to
the service.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Vincent retired from Lincoln Developmental Center in
1976 after devoting several years of her life to the care of
the residents.
She was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Bloomington to Clarence and
Elmyra Scott Scranton.
She is survived by three sons, Danny Burns of
Bloomington, Gerald Bicknell of Raymond, Mo., and Alex
Girdler Jr. of Ridgeville, S.C.; four daughters, Beverly
Vandervort of Oswego, Marilyn Long of Oswego, Janeva
Campbell of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Delores Hurley of
Lincoln; one sister, Erma Bradly of Colfax; 48
grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 12
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, daughter
Joanna Searce, and three brothers, Harlen, James and
Clarence Scranton.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted
at the funeral home.

'Ted' Johnson

LINCOLN -- A celebration of life service for Ted Johnson
will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln,
with Pastor Dan Wissmann officiating.
Teddy "Ted" Wayne Johnson, 60, of Lincoln died April 4,
2006, at 12:20 a.m. at his home.
Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson farmed in Logan County and also worked for
Broadwell Township for many years.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 25, 1965,
until Oct. 24, 1971.
He was born June 5, 1945, at Lincoln to Lloyd and
Florence Amberg Johnson.
He is survived by two sisters, Glenda (and Dean) Downing
of Lincoln and Nancy Thompson of Lincoln; treasured friend
Karen Ackerman of Lincoln; two nieces, Sara (and Greg)
Horchem of Lincoln and Jill (and Jerry) Uhrine of Thompson
Station, Tenn.; and four great-nephews, Joshua, Justin and
Jason Horchem and Samuel Uhrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed farm life, good friends and neighbors, and
family celebrations. His interests included reading, travel
and hiking.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963.
