The clean, crisp -- and we do
mean crisp -- waters at the Lincoln Park District pool are ready and
waiting for summer to begin. Roy Logan, program coordinator, said
the pool is scheduled to open on Saturday, weather permitting. Logan
reminisced how in past summers kids brought bags of ice to cool the
water down. If the weather doesn't break soon, kids might be asked
to help fish ice chunks out of the pool.
The park district requires an outside temperature of 68 degrees in
order to open the pool. It will take some sun to warm the waters,
although it is unlikely cold water temperatures will stop kids from
beginning their summer fun, if only Mother Nature will lend a hand
-- a warm one, we might add. |
