Police Superintendent Jody Weis (WEES) said Friday there's no evidence the 60-year-old Scott was a crime victim. He reiterated that the physical evidence points to suicide.
The Cook County medical examiner's office quickly ruled Scott's Nov. 16 death a suicide. But Chicago police continued investigating.
Weis says the pattern of gun residue on Scott's left hand was consistent with Scott pulling the trigger.
Police say he didn't stop or meet with anyone between the time he left his sister's assisted living facility and when he arrived near the Chicago River, where his body was found.
