Azlen Smith, 8, a third-grade student at Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln, was the winner of a ride to school in a Lincoln Fire Department ladder truck last Thursday. Azlen’s poster, with the theme “Stop, drop and roll,” was chosen as the feature picture from the third-grade entries in the Lincoln Fire Department’s coloring contest to highlight National Fire Prevention Month. Azlen’s parents are Cody and Christy Smith. Her brother, Malachi, and her mom rode with Azlen to school. She chose her picture theme because it is easy to say when talking about fire safety and easy for people to remember. Click on Azlen's picture to see her poster.
