On March 12, Robert Danosky, assistant fire chief, was off duty and having breakfast at an area restaurant. As he left, he saw a group of people outside in panic and calling for help. He went to them and found a man lying on the ground with no pulse. Danosky performed CPR while EMTs were en route. The man survived. Monday evening, Chief Mark Miller acknowledged Danosky's heroic efforts, while Danosky himself humbly said he did not act alone, as the firefighters and paramedics who were on duty at the scene should also be given much credit for the survival of the victim.
