It was prom weekend in
Logan County as the high schools in Lincoln and Mount Pulaski had
their junior-senior proms Saturday. Above, the king
and queen of the Mount Pulaski prom court, Mark Foley and
Allison Haley, are all smiles, along with
the rest of the court, with Drew Houser and Carly Powell on the far left, and to the right of
the queen, Matt Southerlan, Audrey Maske, Gracie
Tierney and Chris Wernsing. They are also
accompanied by the 2011 king and queen, Paul Stoltzenburg and Megan Griesheim.

Courthouse. This year
the event,

red carpet
walk, where
prom goers
were
interviewed
by Bethany Rea,
former Logan
County Fair
queen,
and Josh Komnick.

Iola
Gehlbach of rural Lincoln will be 96 years old
on May 12. She was born Frances Iola Garton on May 12, 1916. After graduating from
Lincoln Community High School and Lincoln
College, she taught for three years at Hatton
School, which she had attended as a child.
She married Albert E. Gehlbach on July 30, 1938.
He died in 2003. Her family includes
two sons, Gerald (and wife Nancy) of rural Lincoln and
Donald (and wife Ann) of Sarasota, Fla.; four
grandchildren, Scott (and Maria) Gehlbach, Brian
(and Krista) Gehlbach, Chad (and Michele) Gehlbach and
Jody (and George) Agnacian; and five
great-grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Gehlbach,
Adrian Gehlbach, and Lily and Charlie Agnacian.
Birthday cards may be sent to 1166 State Route
121, Lincoln, IL 62656. The family will be
celebrating with special occasions throughout
the months of May and June.

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on Sunday. The bounce is described by the festival as
