Guests were rolling into Hickory Lane Campground on Friday evening in preparation for a weekend of making great music. Musicians and those who love to listen will enjoy the camaraderie of newfound friends and renewing old bonds this weekend during the second annual Dan Tackett Bluegrass Jam.

It's going to be the perfect weekend for spending time outside, so even if you aren't a bluegrass fan yet, maybe you will be if you take a short drive toward Atlanta and listen to the jam.

Friday evening, several dozen turned out to enjoy the festivities at the Lincoln Park District. The ballroom was filled with the gaiety of 1860s-style music, dance and fashion. The Civil War Ball was presented along with a dinner and style show by the Logan Railsplitting Association.

Don't forget: This weekend there will be special showings of two 1963 classic films at Lincoln Theater 4.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" will show on Saturday at 1:50, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., and "Lawrence of Arabia" will show Sunday at 3 and 7:30 p.m.
