Today is the day many have been waiting for. The annual Route 66 Garage Sales and the Humane Society of Logan County Garage Sale start today. The HSLC will hold their sale in the “yellow door” barn at the south end of the grandstand at the Logan County Fairgrounds. The Route 66 sales will be located at the Cronin Brothers VFW Freedom Hall, Postville Park, Lincoln IGA, and several other locations. In addition there will be a large number of individuals holding garage sales at their homes. If you love looking for treasures, this is your weekend to be in Lincoln. Enjoy!

This Saturday these five people plan to maintain their record having never missed a Hartsburg-Emden Alumni Banquet. Stags to the heart from the left to right: Ron Spencer - Class of 1989 - will be celebrating his 25th class reunion. Jenny Lou Shirley Bougham - Class of 1947 - has never missed a banquet in 67 years. Ruby Rademaker Harmsen - Class of 1939 - has never missed a banquet in 75 years. Jillyn Cross (Class of 2008) has never missed a banquet in six years. Kevin Behrends - Class of 2001 - has never missed a banquet in 13 years.
