Friday evening WCIA television was in Lincoln for an abbreviated version of one of their "Our Town" segments. The station is putting together an "Our Town" focusing on Route 66 and included Lincoln as one of the many great places to stop when traveling the Mother Road.

Thursday marked the end of the summer reading program at the Lincoln Public Library. This year the theme for the program was "Read to the Rhythm!" Therefore, it was quite fitting that the final special guest of the summer was Irish Traveler Chris McBrien. Among the many talents McBrien shared was that of playing the Irish Drum. Pictured above is McBrien with Lincoln Public Library Youth Librarian Melissa Oxborrow.

Michael Lowery, a 2015 Mount Pulaski High School graduate and Luke Bleyer, a 2015 Williamsville High School graduate, were recognized Tuesday night at the Chicago White Sox game. The two young men were brought down to the field for their baseball accomplishments this past season and honored as part of the 2015 Illinois High School Coaches Association All-Star Team.
