This
summer there has been a great deal of construction
on Interstates 55 and 155 in and near Logan County.
This week motorists on I-55 had an extra challenge
in their commute when Ameren Illinois began
performing work on the electric lines at the
123-mile post south of Lincoln. For local commuters
though the bright spot was a detour via Route 66
allowing them to bypass the traffic that was backed
up for quite a distance on both the north and south
lanes at regular intervals during each day. Ameren
is supposed to complete their work by the end of the
week.
