A
group of Mount Pulaski High School students recently
took a trip to Costa Rica. It is winter in Costa
Rica and the school year is in progress. While
attending classes with their host families, MPHS
students experienced what they referred to as “Tico
Time,” a loose expectation of class times. Some
students travel great distances to get to school,
leave home early, and arrive at school at irregular
times due to public bus travel on a single mountain
road. Sometimes the teacher is there on time and
sometimes he or she is late or absent.
In addition to attending school, the kids also had
plenty time to explore the lush green beauty of the
tropical region and to go on adventures. Today LDN
brings you Part one about their trip along with
photos taken while there. The final part of their
story will run on Tuesday, July 5th.
