On
Friday morning, Michael Barnes of the Illinois
Concerns of Police Survivors (IL COPS) presented
Lincoln Police Chief Paul Adams with a group photo,
signed by each of the approximately 80 bike riders
in this years ride from Alton to Woodstock. The gift
was given in appreciation of the time and effort to
IL COPS given by Lincoln Police Officer Cpl. Maurice
"MO" Johnson and the local department's support of
Johnson in those efforts. A similar gift was given
to Pastor LC Sutton of Eminence Christian Church.
For the past three years the church has provided a
hot and hearty meal to the bikers at their mid-day
break. The first two years the meal was served in
Atlanta. This year it was served at the Lincoln
Rural Fire Protection District station. LDN will
have additional coverage of the IL COP stop in
Lincoln early next week.

BLOOMINGTON
- “Rilu” (dad) and “Hima” (mom) became
parents of three female cubs on May 12, 2016
at 4:30 PM. This was the second straight
successful litter for the pair and for the
Miller Park Zoo. The cubs are now on exhibit
at the Katthoefer Animal Building.
