LDN reader Gary Davis was on hand at the scene of an accident at noon Wednesday at the intersection of Woodlawn and Lincoln Parkway. The following is Davis’ observations. No official accident report has been received.

"Van collides with Rural Fire Department Water truck as it passed through the intersection against the red light with emergency lights and sirens operating. The van driver was taken to the emergency room. Two firemen in the water wagon stayed in their overturned truck until the van passenger was removed with the help of the jaws of life. Responding emergency crews needed more than an hour to remove the damaged vehicles."

On Thursday, May 12th, twenty-six honor students from Mount Pulaski Grade School attended a luncheon sponsored by PASE at the Pizza Man. In order to qualify for the luncheon students had to attain a minimum 3.6 GPA (out of 4.0) in at least three of the four quarters.
