Standing
from left to right are the city of Lincoln Ward
3 Alderman Rick Hoefle, Mayor Seth Goodman and
Fire Chief Mark Miller. The three men are joined
in the council chambers by members of the
Carroll Catholic School third grade class. The
students came to city hall on Wednesday to meet
the mayor, and take a tour of city hall and the
Lincoln Fire Department. Goodman solicited the
assistance of Miller to give the tour, and
Hoefle stopped by to lend a hand as needed. The
kids spent time with the mayor asking him
questions about city government, the annual
budget, and the mayoral duties. They also held
their own mock city council meeting with a
miniature mayor taking a crucial vote, which was
not unanimous. In the end, hamburgers for lunch
won by a landslide with mac and cheese getting
only a few votes and no one voting for brussel
sprouts! LDN will have additional coverage of
the tour on Friday.
