LDN -- Top Stories

On Tuesday afternoon, a large group gathered at the Veteran's Memorial Park on Union Street in Lincoln, to hear two separate announcements concerning the Logan County Sheriff's Department. To begin, Sheriff Steve Nichols announced that he would not be seeking re-election next year. In response to that announcement, Mark Landers, Chief Deputy of Operations at the Logan County Sheriff's Department, announced that he would be running to fill that vacant seat. Also on hand was Logan County State's Attorney Jonathan Wright, who spoke highly of Landers and said that he was officially endorsing Landers as his choice for Sheriff in 2018. LDN will have complete coverage of the announcements in the Thursday edition.
