On
Saturday a group of about 15 people
ranging young to senior in age walked
into Lincoln from Chicago spending their
mid-day break at Scully Park. The group
was on a walk to Springfield, raising
awareness for a message they intended to
deliver to state lawmakers regarding the
state budget. The message according to
spokesperson Kristi Sandford is simple,
"Do what is best for Illinois." The
group would go on to make an overnight
stop in Broadwell and would rally on the
lawn of the Old State Capitol in
Springfield on Tuesday. They asked that
lawmakers pass a state budget, and do so
in the best interest of all people and
the common good.
