Chestnut Bank |

Gails Pumpkin Patch |
Mount Pulaski Courthouse |
Today
we feature photos of folks dressed in
pink from around the county. Staff from
the Chestnut Bank, members of the
Elkhart Public Library, staff from
Gail’s Pumpkin Patch near Beason; and
the site manager at the Mount Pulaski
Courthouse, Barbara Stroud-Borth, all
posed for a picture for Paint the Paper
Pink. This drives home the point that
breast cancer is not just a concern in
isolated areas, it is everywhere. This
year in Illinois more than 9,900 women
will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
This is the highest incident rating of
all cancer types. The good news is that
the number one ranking does not carry
through to mortality rates. More people
are surviving breast cancer every day
due in no small part to cancer research
and work funded by the American Cancer
Society.
