Digital
renderings of signage to be placed in Atlanta, Elkhart and Mount
Pulaski show an example of what visitors to the community will see
when searching for information about tourist activities in Logan
County. The three gateway communities are banding together and
partnering with the Logan County Tourism Bureau and the Logan County
Economic Development Partnership to establish visitor centers in all
three towns. The LCTB offices at the Lincoln Depot complete the
picture as the main location for introducing tourists to the rich
Route 66 and Abraham Lincoln history in Logan County.
On Thursday evening, the Logan County Tourism Bureau’s Board of
Directors unanimously agreed to support this effort with a monetary
award of $4,500. Each community will also be contributing to the
cost of the centers. With the original budget for the project
estimated at just over $8,000, the LCTB is covering more than 50
percent of the costs.
