On
Saturday, day two of the second annual Fitz-a-palooza fundraiser for
colorectal cancer saw a significant turn out at the Lincoln Knights
of Columbus Hall. The day was spent with lots of fun activities and
good food, all to raise money and awareness for colorectal cancer
while honoring and remembering Joni Marten and Joe Fitzpatrick.

LINCOLN STREET CLOSURE
Beginning immediately the 600 Block of North
Chicago Street will be closed between Keokuk St. and Lincoln
Ave due to a sewer issue and pending repair. Repairs are
tentatively scheduled for next week. the street will reopen
when repairs are complete.

MOTORIST ALERT
IL RT. 121 TO BE CLOSED MULTIPLE DAYS NEXT WEEK
Beginning Monday, September 9, 2019 at
6:00 AM, IL 121 just southeast of the City of Lincoln will
be closed at the CN-IC Railroad grade crossing.
Traffic will not be allowed through the area during
construction.
The repairs are expected to be completed on Thursday,
September 12 at 7:00 p.m..
The public’s cooperation is always appreciated. Thank you in
advance for your patience during this repair.

D-Day reenactment on Normandy Beach will be the topic of the dinner
lecture offered by the Elkhart Historical Society on Friday
September 27. Jim Grimaldi, who took part in the event as a
paratrooper, will show actual video clips and photos of the event,
as well as some of the equipment used to celebrate the 75th
anniversary.
