On
Sunday volunteers gathered on the lawn of the Logan
County Courthouse in Lincoln to install 2,977 flags as a
tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
The end result was a sea of red, white and blue on two
sides of the courthouse. The flags are spread in neat
even rows from the corner of Broadway and Kickapoo
Streets southward to Pekin Street and east to McLean.
