2021 Photo of the
Year
The
2021 photo of the year is a two-part taken by Lisa
Ramlow. Of course, this couple is recognizable by many,
and all those who know the pair know that the
spontaneous actions in the two photos are entirely
natural for them. The photos taken at the Lincoln Depot
Visitors Center on the night of the Lincoln Christmas
parade were a matter of Lisa being on her toes and
catching a moment that might have otherwise gone
somewhat unnoticed.
LDN will also give
honorable mention to this photo taken six months earlier
at the Lincoln Park District Fourth of July Children's
Parade. This little tyke rode his little scooter most of
the way from Scully Park to the Park District
Recreational Center. He caught the eye of LDN's Nila
Smith because he is just so tiny and cute. Plus, the
look on his face is priceless.

2021
YEAR IN REVIEW |
On Saturday morning, a dream
more than 15 years in the making came true at the Lincoln
Junior High School Ralph Gale Baseball Field. Thanks to a
grant funding the project, the field is now the first turf
field in Logan County.
A ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony were held before
the new diamond's inaugural game with LJHS competing against
Chester-East Lincoln. LJHS Board President Steven Rohrer was
joined by Woody and Sue Jones in snipping the ribbon. The
trio was surrounded by LJHS staff and school board members,
representatives from the city of Lincoln and the CEL and
LJHS baseball teams.
Jones, who donated the scoreboard, was honored with the
first pitch for the game.
