Local motorists traversing Fifth Street in Lincoln may have noticed that there is a new name on the sign that was once St. Clara’s Manor. The former nursing home facility was turned over to Lincoln College after St. Clara’s moved into its new facility on the west side of town. The Central Illinois Veteran’s Commission and other entities in town are aiming to give that building new life in the form of a shelter, and restorative services meant to assist veterans and all other ‘at risk’ members of our community in their times of need.
