On Thursday afternoon the
Humane Society of Logan County broke ground on the new
building edition that will, when completed, be a new
isolation center for incoming dog. Both dogs and cats
must spend a period of time in isolation when they
arrive at the shelter. This is to assure that each pet
does not bring in a communicable illness or disease to
the general population. The new isolation area for dogs
only will be larger than the current space permitting
the HSLC to bring in more dogs at a time. The existing
isolation unit will then be converted into a unit for
cats and kittens only.
