Hartsburg-Emden Elementary teacher Kim
Simmons is in the running for the Teach for
America Teacher of the Year award. If chosen
as the winner Simmons will appear in
Reader’s Digest magazine, win a trip to
Hawaii and a $25,000 cash prize.
The contest is also a fundraiser for Teach
for America with a single vote being free
and additional votes available for a
