Broncos advance to semifinals

The host
Lincoln Area Bronco All-Stars, sponsored by Triple T Promotional,
advanced to the semifinals with a 9-7 victory over a McLean County
team Thursday evening in PONY League tournament action.

Bryce Hunsley started the game and
pitched four innings, allowing only three hits and two earned
runs. Cole Brownfield pitched out of a jam in the fifth inning to
keep Lincoln on top 8-6. Then Kyle Young got his second save in two
opportunities in the tournament, giving up only one hit and one
unearned run, while striking out three in two innings of relief
work.
The offensive star of the game was
Blair Bruns, who was 3-for-4, belting a three-run homer over the
right-field fence. Later in the game, Bruns connected for a triple
and double, scoring three runs.

Brett Montgomery also extended his
hitting streak. He has a hit in each of his eight games played as a
Lincoln Area All-Star, and four of the eight outings have been
multi-hit games. Against McLean County, he was 2-for-4 with two runs
scored and two RBIs.
Others with hits for Triple T were Cole
Brownfield, Ethan Tabor and Kyle Young.
The Lincoln area team plays another
McLean County team in a winner's-bracket game on Saturday at 4 p.m.
on the Bronco field.
