[NOV. 15, 2003]  Muskegon, Mi. - Grand Valley defeated Lincoln College 31-6, and Muskegon defeated the Lynx 24-19, in dual wrestling meets here Friday night. Lincoln College will be in action again Saturday at the Muskegon Open.

Chris Ravenna scored an 8-6 victory over Jay Erny of Grand Valley in the 141 pound class and Steve Woeckener was a 10-3 winner over John Steen in the 149 pound class for the only wins on the Lynx side against Grand Valley.

In other matches at 125 pounds, Josh Buatte lost by fall in 4:18 to Eric Gervis; at 133 pounds, Keil Barnhisel lost to Ven Gervis, 5-2; at 157 pounds Erik Brozman lost to Jeraminie Gitchell by fall in 5:42; at 165 pounds Frank Beasley was beaten 9-1 by Matt Stepanovich; at 174 pounds, A. J. Blahut lost a 2-1 decision to Jess Hale; at 184 pounds Lamar Fenner was a 7-2 loser to Brian Thomas; at 197 pounds Nick Adams lost a 4-2 decision to Jon Stolle; and at heavyweight Pete Mueller lost a 2-1 decision to Craig Penzien.

Against Muskegon the Lynx were victorious at the 149 pound class as Steve Woeckener defeated Tom Lyon, 14-4; at 174 A. J. Blahut pinned Matt Teesdale in 3:06; at 184 Lamar Fenner decision Mike Dress 6-3; and at heavyweight Pete Mueller pinned Aaron Olson in 1:12.

Josh Buatte was beaten by Muskegon's John Deckl, 6-4, at the 125 pound class; Keil Barnhisel was pinned in 3:16 of the 133 class by Dan Duncan; Chris Ravenna lost a 4-1 decision to Wilnar Esteban at 141 pounds; Erik Brozman was beaten by an 8-1 score by Bill Johnson at 157 pounds; Frank Beasley lost to Coady Anderson, 10-8 at the 165 class; and Nick Adams lost to Jeremy Jackson by fall in 1:29 of the 197 pound class.
