LC volleyball vs. Lincoln Land    Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 9, 2003]  Lincoln Land handed the Lincoln College volleyball team a setback in five games at Lincoln Wednesday night. Lincoln College won the first two games, 30-21 and 30-22, before Lincoln Land rebounded to win three straight, 30-27, 31-29, 15-10.

Lincoln College, 5-12, will be in action Thursday night at the Springfield College tri-match beginning at 5 p.m.

Kristin Majka was the stat leader for Lincoln College with 14 points, four aces and 10 kills. Melissa Brassard had eight points, nine kills and two blocks, while Lacey Jones had eight kills and one block. Ashley Hanson had five digs for the Lynx.

"We really outplayed them (Lincoln Land), but our serves really hurt us tonight," said Lincoln coach Mark Tippett. "Serving has been one of our strong points, but tonight we just couldn't get the good serve when we needed it. We played a solid match in all other areas as our passing and defense were both excellent. We lost to them in three games earlier this season, so I think this shows we are improving. We really should have won the match."
