[SEPT. 17, 2003]  Lincoln Christian College defeated Lincoln College in volleyball action at Lincoln College Tuesday night by the scores of 27-30, 30-22, 30-16, 30-23.

Maggie Noldan was one of the leaders for Lincoln College, with 25 set assists and nine points, while Rosie Miller contributed seven points and 10 digs. Also aiding the LC cause was Kristin Majka with 12 kills and seven points, Lacey Jones with 11 kills and four digs, and Melissa Brassard with 10 kills and two blocks.

"I was really pleased with the way we came out and played tonight against a quality team like LCC," said Lincoln College coach Mark Tippett. "We passed the ball well and things really fell into play, especially in the first game, which we won. We just need to become more consistent and not play in spurts.

"LCC has an excellent team, and they appear to get better as the matches go along. They are such a consistent team that they give you no room for errors. I feel this match will help us down the road, and if we can play this well in the future, I see several wins forthcoming."

Lincoln College will next be in action Saturday when they host a tri-match with Black Hawk East and Kaskaskia. The tri-match begins at 11 a.m. with Lincoln College taking on Black Hawk East. At 1 p.m. Black Hawk East will play Kaskaskia, and at 3 p.m. Lincoln College will battle Kaskaskia.
