[APRIL 11, 2005]  Lincoln College outlasted Danville Community College to post a 10-8 conference win at Lincoln Sunday afternoon. The victory is the first in conference play for the Lynx (1-5), while Danville falls to 5-4. LC is 11-12 overall and will play a twin bill Monday at Lincoln against Lindenwood.

Bryant Wright led the Lincoln College 13-hit attack with three hits, including a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Wright scored three runs for the Lynx. Andy Bakhus, Jake Jones and Nick Meredith each collected a pair of hits for Lincoln College. Jones had a two-run double in the seventh. Collecting one hit each were Tyler Casson, Brad Hall, Brian Rynearson and Alex Brown.

Matt Miller picked up the victory with six innings of three-hit baseball for the Lynx. He allowed three runs, all earned, walked four and struck out four. Kyle Bruce, Ryan Driskill and Colton McClellan each pitched one inning.

Although the game was played in Lincoln, Danville was the home team, as the game had been scheduled for Danville. Since DCC did not have its field ready for play, the game was moved to Lincoln.

Saturday games

Danville Community College handed the Lincoln College Lynx a pair of baseball setbacks Saturday afternoon at Galen Shirley Field by scores of 4-1 and 6-1. Danville ran its conference record to 5-3, while Lincoln College fell to 0-5 and 10-12 overall.

Lincoln pounded out nine hits in the first game, including a four-for-four performance from Brad Hall. Hall hit a solo homer in the fifth inning for the Lynx. Scott Aeschelman was the loser in the first game, allowing eight hits and two earned runs in six innings, with four strikeouts and one walk. Andy Bakhaus had a pair of hits for the Lynx, while Adam York and Kyle Killenger each had one safety.

In the second game, Danville broke open a tight game with three runs in the sixth inning and coasted to the win as the Lynx managed just two hits. York and Alex Brown had the only hits for Lincoln College. Nick Kidwell was the losing pitcher with five innings, four hits, no earned runs, two strikeouts and one walk.
