It was one year ago this coming Sunday that Lincoln saw a significant snow that took quite some time for city crews to get cleaned up. If we should see a repeat this year, the city feels they are better prepared to address a storm and to keep its citizens informed about how snow removal is handled. This week, Lincoln city administrator Clay Johnson sent out the city's official Snow and Ice Control Plan. The plan will be posted here on LDN and the city website.

World's Largest Catsup Bottle

Some of those who attended the Schnucks Classic in Collinsville over the Christmas Holiday had some free time to check out the community. One of the town's most noted landmarks is the Brook's Catsup Bottle water tower. This year the property the bottle is on went up for sale, along with the bottle, which means that great landmark may someday go away. We show you this today to remind you that we live in a community where we respect our history and do what we can to preserve it. Sometimes progress gets in the way of such preservation, but more often than not, the people of Logan County come up with a way to save what is near and dear to their hearts. That should be a source of pride for all of us.
