Saturday
was Russel Allen Garden Day in Lincoln. The annual event held at
Lincoln College and hosted by the Logan County Master Gardeners is a
"must attend" for many local gardeners. The day included break out
sessions regarding succulents, home decor with floral arrangement, a
tour of South Africa, growing herbs, and beekeeping. The keynote
speaker for the day was Dr. Julia Ossler, Assistant Professor of
Science at Lincoln College, who spoke about preserving and growing
the monarch population through local efforts. Guests enjoyed
visiting with vendors, and reconnecting with fellow gardeners in
anticipation of the spring growing season.
