			On
Friday morning, LDN's Karen Hargis was going through downtown
Lincoln at just the right time to catch the beginning of the work to
install the 38 Hometown Hero banners around the Logan County
Courthouse Square. Fittingly, among the first banners to be
installed was that of longtime Logan County Board member Bob Farmer.
This morning, Saturday, at 11 a.m. there will be an official
ceremony held at Latham Park at the bandstand to celebrate the
installation of the first 38 banners. The public is invited to
			attend.

The Hometown Hero Project is being promoted by the Lincoln Rotary
with support from the city of Lincoln as well as the Logan County
Board. Banners are hung around the square and also in Scully and
			Latham Parks.

			On
Friday the fifth grade students from the District 27 elementary
schools including Central, Northwest and Washington-Monroe
participated in the annual Civil War walk at the Lincoln Heritage
Museum in Lincoln. Dressed to fit persons in the Civil War, students
offered visitors narratives that pertained to the events they were
			depicting.
