Bill Thomas of Atlanta, who Chairs the Route 66
Road Ahead project, has learned that President Joe Biden added his name
to the member list of the National Route 66 Centennial Commission.
The 100th anniversary of Route 66 will be celebrated in 2026. The duty
of the National Commission will be to "study and recommend in a report
to Congress activities that would be fitting and proper to celebrate the
centennial anniversary of the Mother Road of the United States."

The Lady Railers overcame
a big setback on Thursday evening and became the Dixon-KSB
Holiday Classic champions. Though missing one of their key
players, the Lady Railers played a fierce game against the up to
this night undefeated Dixon Duchesses. Becca Heitzig suffered a
broken wrist during the Wednesday night game and cheered her
ladies on from the sidelines Thursday night. Nonetheless, the
team came together almost flawlessly with a new starter on the
court, Piper Whiteman.
The ladies trounced the Duchesses with a final score of 49-16.
