County Local Emergency Planning Committee, the LEPC, held its spring
quarterly meeting at the Logan County Safety Complex recently.
Yearly elections for all offices, voting delegates, committees and

Oasis update
The Oasis, Logan
County’s senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is open
also on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Computer
basics class
There are a few seats available for the
Nov. 4-8 class, focusing on computer basics for beginners. The class
is $15 for Monday through Friday sessions starting at 9:30 a.m. Call
732-6132 for a reservation.
Goodfield
Barn II dinner and show
Several seats are still available for
the trip to see "No Sex, Please, We’re British." The cost of $33
covers transportation, lunch and show ticket. Call 732-6132 for a
reservation before Nov. 1.
Challenge
winners
In mid-October the biannual pinochle
challenge between Oasis and Springfield Senior Center players was in
Lincoln. The winner was the challenger, Springfield, with a score of
57,500 to 52,180 for Lincoln.
Regular weekly pinochle winners were
Jean Cypher and Henry Warnisher. Winners for the second weekend in
October were Esther Will for pinochle and Tom Garrison and Bernie
DePuy for 5 in 1. Harley Heath won pool honors.
