The Lincoln Community
High School Speech Team finished 3rd at the 18 team Olympia
Christmas Classic. Varsity tournament champion included Lindsey
Boerma in Humorous Interp. Other varsity finalists were Doug Rohrer
5th in Dramatic Interp, Rohrer and Boerma 2nd and Brady Gerdts and
Kassandra Pepperell 4th in Humorous Duet, Brandon Davis 3rd in
Declamation, Audrey Beach 4th in Oratory, Tom Swanson 2nd and Rachel
Kasa 6th in Prose, Brian Welter 2nd in Radio, and Tom Swanson 4th in
Special Occasion.

Semifinalists included: Brady Gerdts and Brittany Feese in
Dramatic Duet, Kathryn Muck and Ruth Ohmart in Dramatic Interp,
Miranda Merriman in Extemp and Impromtu, Patrick Perry and Daniel
Ohmart in Humorous Duet, Erica Brickey and Erica O'Neill in
Declamation, Brian Welter in Original Comedy, Sonya Twist in
Oratory, Audrey Beach in Radio, Jill Patrick and Fay Allison in
Special Occasion, and Rachel Kasa in Verse.
Novice Finalists were led by Sonya Twist 1st in Oratory and
Declamation and Hannah Snyder 1st in Impromptu and 3rd in Extemp.
Other finalists included Jill Patrick and Meri Laurence 3rd in
Dramatic Duet, Daniel Ohmart and Patrick Perry 1st in Humorous
Duet, Patrick Perry 2nd in Humorous Interp, Rebecca Rogers 6th in
Prose and 3rd in Verse, Daniel Ohmart 2nd in Radio, Jill Patrick
5th in Special Occasion and Rachel Kasa 5th in Verse.
LCHS speakers will enjoy an extended break until the Snow Bowl
Speech Tournament on January 10, 2004.
