CHAMPAIGN
-- The University of Illinois men's basketball team, under
first-year head coach Bruce Weber, is finalizing plans for a late
summer European competition tour in order to help prepare for the
2003-04 season. The Fighting Illini will travel 11 days and nine
nights across Sweden, Estonia and Finland, from Aug. 9 to 19.

While overseas, the Illini will play
five games. At least three of those games are expected to be against
national teams, which have yet to be named.
The Illinois roster will consist of
nine players, including all returnees from last year's team, which
finished 25-7 overall. Incoming freshmen are not eligible to travel
with the team on the tour.
The Illini will spend four nights in
Stockholm, Sweden; then travel by ship across the Baltic Sea and
spend one night in Tallinn, Estonia; and will conclude the trip with
four nights in Helsinki, Finland.
