[OCT. 15, 2003]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Nashville North, Taylorville trip

Oct. 16 is the deadline to reserve a seat for the "Tanya Tucker Show." Stop in at the front desk with your reservation of $35 for members and $37 for nonmembers, which covers transportation and show ticket. The show is Oct. 25, and the departure time is 4 p.m.

Thursday bingo

The University of Illinois Extension sponsors the bingo game activity starting at 1 p.m. Thursday. Bring your friends and enjoy the fun, games and nutritious prizes.

Remember to buy your $3.50 ticket in advance for the special fifth Thursday breakfast bingo games sponsored by Preceptor Eta Sorority on Oct. 30. Breakfast is scheduled for 9 a.m., and bingo starts at 10 a.m. Deadline is noon Oct. 27.

Alzheimer group meeting

The Alzheimer support group meets Thursday at 1 p.m. to discuss coping, special assistance and other concerns.

Monthly birthday party

Join us Monday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m. for the party that celebrates all October birthdays. There's cake, ice cream, prizes, games and entertainment for all to enjoy.

Legal aid

Call for an appointment for Thursday, Oct. 23, for legal assistance provided by the Lincoln Land Legal Assistance Foundation. The attorney is available from 9 a.m. to noon. A home appointment can also be scheduled for people unable to come to the senior center.

Game winners

The Oct. 4 card party winners were Betty Oltmanns, Ruth Hoppin and Eugenia Merry for bridge. Helen Cart, Lucille Wilson and Pauline Boward won pinochle. Door prize winners were Phyllis Moriearty, Annabelle Rademaker, Betty Oltmanns, Bernie DePuy, D.J. Butler and Millie Anderson. Weekly pinochle winners were Helen Cart and Linda Hughes. Helen Opperman and Marjorie Reiners won the weekend pinochle honors, and Dorothy Oltmanns won 5 in 1.
