LINCOLN -- Rebecca "Becky"
Ritchhart, 58, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at 1:08 a.m. at her
home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Julie Azbel officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
She worked as a waitress at various restaurants, including the Cracker
Barrel.
She was born
Nov. 26, 1946,
in Lincoln to Irvin and Mary Passmore Rowland.
She is
survived by her mother, of
Lincoln;
her life companion, Louis Cramer; one daughter, Traycee (and
Steve) Thweatt of Gainesville, Ga.; two grandchildren; and one
brother, Tom (and Dee) Rowland of
Lincoln.
She was
preceded in death by her father.
She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and
Lincoln Eagles 2708
Auxiliary.

Hospice Care of Illinois.

MASON CITY -- Thelma Irene
Shawgo, 83, formerly of Greenview, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005,
at 7:15 a.m. at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home.
Her funeral will be at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday at Greenview United Church, with the Rev.
Robert Hanson and the Rev. Robert Paddack officiating.
Burial will be in Mason City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Shawgo was an Avon
representative for many years and worked at Blanchard’s Store
in Greenview.
She was born July 28, 1921, at
Beardstown to Ire Lee and Pearl Kenner Showalter. She married
William Leonard Shawgo on March 4, 1914, at Keokuk, Iowa. He
died Nov. 25, 2000.
She is survived by one son,
Jim E. (and Sharon) Shawgo of Mason City; one daughter, Donna
J. (and Glenn) Simmering of Greenview; five grandchildren,
Barry (and Lanna) Shawgo of Columbus, Ohio, Libby Shawgo of
New Berlin, Shannon (and Brian) Marcinkus of Tonica, Shelby
(and Brad) of Greenview and Kirby Simmering of Arlington, Va.;
and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death
by four sisters.
She was a member of the United
Church in Greenview and a former member of the Mason City
Methodist Church. She had been Sunday school superintendent
and teacher for many years and served in other roles at the
churches.
She was also a member of the
Stitch and Chatter Club.
She left a legacy of love in
her many hand-stitched quilts, her always positive attitude,
her wisdom and encouragement, and in the sharing of her strong
faith.

LINCOLN -- Robert D. Conrady,
74, of Lincoln died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at 8:15 a.m. at
his home.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, with the
Rev. David Russell officiating. Visitation will be at the
church from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the
service on Tuesday.
Burial will be in Hartsburg
Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled
by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Conrady was retired from
farming in Prairie Creek Township.
He was born at Hartsburg on
Nov. 4, 1936, the fourth child of Seide and Anna Rademaker
Conrady. He married Margaret Wibben on Aug. 12, 1956, in
Hartsburg.
He is survived by his wife, of
Lincoln; one son, Craig (and Paula) Conrady of New Holland;
three daughters, Cindy (and Kevin) Gleason of Hartsburg, Cathy
Richardson of Hopedale and Christy (and Jay) Cross of Emden;
eight grandchildren, Mark (and Ruah) Gleason of San Marcos,
Texas, Mandy (and Dinu) Vinnakota of Aurora, Matt and Mitch
Gleason of Hartsburg, Andrea and Adam Cross of Emden, and
Curtis and Joshua Robert Conrady of New Holland; one brother,
Earl Conrady of Lincoln; three sisters; and special
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Wibben family.
He was preceded in death by
his parents.
He was a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, where he served several terms on
the church council. He was also a member of Farm Bureau and
the United States Trotting Association.

Rare Disorders.

LINCOLN -- Wesley August Arnold, 91, formerly of Emden,
died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at 7:30 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care
Centre.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland and
Barry Funeral Home.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion United
Methodist Church in Emden, with the Rev. Tyler Escoubas
officiating.
Burial, with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Mr. Arnold farmed in Prairie Creek Township, in the Emden
area, and was a carpenter.
He served 4½ years in the
Philippine Islands during World War II.
He was born Oct. 30, 1912, at rural Emden to August and
Kate Westen Arnold. He married Elizabeth Bullard on April 9,
1950, in Bloomington. She died June 4, 2004.
He is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Sue McGuire (and
Tim) of Keno, Ore., Mary Ann Navazio (and Paul) of Rebersburg,
Pa., and Barbara Hinch (and Dwight) of Brainerd, Minn.; four
granddaughters and one grandson; two great-granddaughters; one
great-great-grandson; and one sister, Kathleen Rippey of
Bloomington.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy
Hoepner, and one brother, Louis Arnold.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and
American Legion Post 506, both in Emden.

LINCOLN -- Dorothy M. Ruenzi,
88, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at 7:46 p.m. at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
A prayer service and visitation were
on Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Her funeral was Monday morning at Holy Family Church, with the Rev. R. Anthony
Lee officiating.
Burial is in St. Mary's
Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruenzi was a homemaker
for her family.
She was born Sept. 24, 1916, at
Clinton to Walter and Ruby Ludlam Lucas. She married Joseph E.
Ruenzi on May 29, 19--, in Lincoln. He died Jan. 16, 1981.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet (and Jerry) Langenbahn of
Lincoln, Betty (and David) Story of Smithton and Karen
Ackerman of Lincoln;
four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and one grandson. She was
the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of Holy Family Church of Lincoln, Knights of Columbus
Ladies Auxiliary and Logan County Home Extension.
She was an avid bingo player.
Memorials may be made to Holy
Family Church, the Christian Village or Carroll Catholic
School.

LINCOLN -- Kathie Anne Nash
Elliott, 57, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at 6:38 p.m. at the
Christian Nursing Home.
Visitation was on Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.
Monday at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tom Gerdts
officiating.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
She was an interior designer.
She was born April 16, 1947, to
Marion and Evelyn Cronk Nash.
She is survived by one
daughter, Ann Elliott of Lincoln, and one sister, Theresa
Salazar of Aliso Veijo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by
her father and one brother, Jimmie R. Nash.
She was a member of Lincoln
Christian Church and a former member of the United Methodist
Church of Murphysboro. She was also a member of Zonta Club of
Lincoln, the Red Hat Society and the American Society of
Interior Designers.

EMDEN -- Lloyd Mitchell, 68,
of Emden, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at his home.
A graveside service with
military rites will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery.
The Rev. Dean Blackburn will officiate.
Mr. Mitchell served his
country in the U.S. Army as a Russian language interpreter
stationed in Japan. He returned to the family farm and spent
several years caring for his mother.
He was born Dec. 30, 1936, to
John and Edith Mitchell.
He is survived by his brother,
Kenneth, of Hopedale, and numerous nieces and nephews.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- William
Harrison Cook, 51, a Lincoln native, died Jan. 24, 2005, at
his home in Fort Myers.
His body was cremated.
A memorial service will be
conducted in Lincoln, Ill., at a later date.
The burial place is Lawndale
Cemetery, Lawndale.
Mr. Cook was a supervisory
Internal Revenue agent in Florida. He had previously worked as
an accountant at Abbott & Gaffney and for Lincoln College and
was co-owner and operator of First Class Travel Agency, all in
Lincoln, Ill.
He was born June 12, 1953, in
Lincoln to Harrison William "Bill" and Margaret Wise Cook. He
married Mary Ross in Chillicothe.
He is survived by his wife, of
Estero, Fla.; one son, Ross Harrison Cook (and Melissa
Bismarck) of New Port Richey, Fla.; his father, of Hobbs, New
Mexico; his mother, Margaret Sutton of Lincoln; two
grandchildren, Shyanne and Kyla of New Port Richey, Fla.;
three brothers, Kevin Cook of Hobbs, N.M., Steven Cook of
Springfield and David Sutton of Lincoln; one sister, Wanda
Salzman of Naples, Fla.; and a close personal friend, David
Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his
paternal grandmother, Eva Rainwater Cook, and one sister,
Bertie Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that memorials be given to Habitat for Humanity.
