McLEAN -- Osco Willard Cook,
84, of rural McLean, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at 10:40 a.m.
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10:30
a.m. Tuesday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, with the Rev.
Melvin Angel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to
the service.
Burial will be in Atlanta
Cemetery. Atlanta American Legion Gresham-Crutchley Post 341
will conduct military rites.
Mr. Cook farmed in the Atlanta
area and worked several years for Mountjoy Seed Company in
Atlanta.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II.
He was born March 17, 1920, at
Baizetown, Ohio County, Ky., to Icem Hillard and Perlina Cook.
He married Eva Louemma Dalbey on June 17, 1941, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife;
six children, Darwin Cook of Tucson, Ariz., Mavis Cook of
McLean, Jim Cook of Bartonville, Russell Cook of Beason, Gary
Cook of McLean and John Cook of McLean; nine grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Lowery of Tucson,
Ariz.; and two brothers, Hillard Cook and Jewel Cook, both of
Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by
two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Society.

LINCOLN -- Jane Lakes,
65, formerly of Atlanta, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at 4:30
p.m. at her home.
There will be no visitation or funeral.
Following cremation, a memorial service may be scheduled at
a later date.
Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Lakes was a homemaker.
She was born Jan. 4, 1940, at Mount Auburn, to Clarence and
Mildred Bowles Black. She married Arthur White on June 18,
1960, in Lincoln. He died Jan. 5, 1993. She married Lyle B.
"Jack" Lakes on Feb. 11, 1995, in Atlanta. He died March 17,
2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (and Eric) Atchison
of Atlanta and Carrie White of Minnesota; one son, Tim White
(and Betsy Huffman) of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.
She attended New Wine Fellowship.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
