LINCOLN -- Joyce Ruth Coleman, 68, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at 10:02 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Coleman retired from Community Action, where she worked in the departments of foster grandparents and energy.

She was born March 7, 1937, in Evansville, Ind., to Louis and Genevieve Clark Hughes. She married John Coleman on June 8, 1956, in Evansville, Ind. He died Sept. 20, 2005.

She is survived by one son, Keith (and Ann) Coleman of Lincoln; two daughters, Jamie (and Tim) Brennan of Lincoln and Jean Coleman of Lincoln; two brothers, Larry Hughes of Evansville, Ind., and Terry (and Shannon) Hughes of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Shirley (and James) Harl of Wildwood, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Schaub, and one son, Joseph D. Coleman.

She attended Lincoln Christian Church.

Esther Katz

LINCOLN -- Esther L. Katz, 93, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at 5:10 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating. Visitation will be at the church from noon until the service time.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Katz was a bookkeeper at Logan Mason Farm Supply before she retired.

She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Lincoln to Emil and Tillie Johnson Hendrickson. She married Harold Katz on Nov 9, 1933, at the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one son, David (and Becky) Katz of Lincoln; one brother, Ralph (and Martha) Hendrickson of Lincoln; one sister, Mildred Berryman of Lincoln; three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

One brother, Earl, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln and the Ladies Aid of the church.

Memorials may be made to her church or to the Christian Village.

LINCOLN -- Paul E. "Stud" Harmon, 74, of Lincoln, formerly of Atlanta, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at 2:15 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McLean Cemetery, McLean. The Rev. John L. Horner will officiate. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Lincoln American Legion Logan Post 263.

There will be no visitation.

Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is handling arrangements.

Mr. Harmon was a truck driver working out of Teamsters Local 916, Springfield. He retired in 1993.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was born May 3, 1931, at Armington to Merle J. and Eva Carr Harmon. He married Madeline Van Hooser on Oct. 4, 1965, at Marshall.

He is survived by his wife; eight children, Tom Harmon of Georgia, James (and Dyann) Harmon of Mississippi, Diane (and Andy) Gerhart of Connecticut, Kenneth (and Betsy) Harmon of Connecticut, John Harmon of Mississippi, Karen Schaub of Lincoln, Julie Clenin of New York and Leonard (and Susan) Harmon of Lincoln; one sister, Ruth Ellen Harmon of Florida; one brother, Raymond Carl Harmon of Minier; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

He was a member of the Lincoln American Legion, Atlanta Masonic Lodge and the Teamsters union.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

LINCOLN -- Linda Louise Cooper, 65, of Venice, Fla., and Zionsville, Ind., formerly of Lincoln, died Nov. 18, 2005, in Venice, Fla.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln. The Rev. Linda Johnson of Zionsville United Methodist Church, Zionsville, Ind., will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

She was born July 21, 1940, in Lincoln to Wilbur E. and Louise Walker Layman.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, Donald Cooper of Venice, Fla., and Zionsville, Ind.; two sons, Christopher Cooper of East Peoria and Scott Cooper of Parma, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and an aunt, Marjorie Schertz of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Zionsville, Ind.

She served as a trustee for Lincoln College.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Lincoln College Office of Advancement and will be accepted at the funeral home.
