"This is an impressive win for the Lynx,"
he said. "Lincoln Trail is a very
good basketball team.
"I thought Chris Ware played the best all-round
game for us this year. He really sat down and played defense for us
tonight on a smaller, quicker player.
"This allowed us to play Kiel Turpin and Chris at the same time,
and this helped us offensively, with Chris going 9-10 from the
floor, 5-5 from foul line, for a game-high 23 points, and Kiel scoring
12 points.
"Lincoln led at halftime 36-31, giving up a bucket at the last
second. Our guards did a great job defensively, holding this team to
67 points, considering Lincoln Trail scored 97 points on Wednesday
against Danville.
"Kyler Works had six assists, and our team went 19-21 from the foul
line. "We had some opportunities to push the lead past 10, but some
bad decisions on turnovers hurt us. We need to continue to play with
intensity on defense and make good decisions on offense. This game
has put us on a good path, I expect us to continue to learn and
grow." Lincoln improved to 8-4 with the win, while Lincoln Trail
dropped to 7-4.
