The Lincoln Elks do
more than just play golf.
Bill Overton (center), board president
for the Lincoln/Logan County Food Pantry, has had a very good week. First, the annual
drive at the IGA this weekend set record numbers, and then David
Faith, grand exalted ruler (on left), and Doug DeMay, fundraiser
chairman, from the Elks stopped by with a
remarkable $1,220 donation.
This summer the Elks hosted a
comedy night, and the proceeds were given to the
local pantry. Overton said such contributions are gratefully
accepted as the pantry heads into a new year with a 5 percent gain in
"customers" over this time last year.
