In
this photo

the
Washington
State
Patrol, a
load of
salmon heads
and guts
lies along
and next to
Highway 101
north of
Ilwaco,
Wash., after
a
tractor-trailer
spilled its
load Friday.
Washington
State Patrol
Trooper Russ
Winger says
the "soupy"
mass -- salmon
remains from
a rendering
plant headed
to a cat
food
factory --
apparently
started
sloshing
around on a
curve and
caused the
trailer to
tip over,
closing the
highway. The
truck cab
remained
upright and
the driver
was not
injured. An
excavator
was brought
in to scoop
up as much
of the spill
as possible,
though much
of it was
practically
on the shore
of Willapa
Bay near the
Willapa Bay
National
Wildlife
Refuge.
