At the moment, Washington-Monroe School appears to be windowless, but there was no act of vandalism here. The school is taking advantage of the dollars contributed to it through the one-cent sales tax that local voters approved in 2011, to create a better learning environment for local children.

The Food Bank serves a 21-county region in central Illinois including Logan County. SPRINGFIELD – Abner Mikva, recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for a career that saw him serve in all three branches of government, will discuss his accomplishments and efforts to engage youth in public service on July 14 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.  Read more in the Tourism section below.
