On
Tuesday evening, snow began falling lightly at
approximately 6 p.m. By 8 p.m. it was falling more
heavily and was covering city streets in Lincoln.
The weather forecast was for two or three inches in
this area. Lincoln Street Superintendent Walt
Landers said at 8 p.m. that he was expecting that
there would be plowing take place on Wednesday
morning. The snow was expected to stop around 3 a.m.
and Landers said plow crews would be on the job
quickly after that. With an anticipated two-plus
inches accumulation, snow routes will be activated.
Plowing will still take place according to the
city's snow removal plan, so some of those snow
routes may not be plowed right away. To review the

The snow plows were out on Wednesday morning clearing roads
of the
snow. Around four inches of the fluffy stuff fell
overnight. This plow is
headed south on 1250th Ave. about to go over Interstate 55. |

Saturday, the Lincoln Junior High School Pom Team
participated in the Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA)
Regional in Clinton. The group under the supervision of
Coach Kirstin Smith has been working hard to compete for
the first time. While they did not place this year, they
have gained valuable experience, and they are already
looking forward to the competition again next year.
