Those
who were out on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning
might have noticed how quiet the earth was. It seems
odd that when it snows, it's like Mother Nature
turns off all the sounds but the sound of the snow
falling on the ground. It also seems odd that
something so white can create such an artistic
foreground for an early morning sunrise. On
Wednesday morning as the sun came up, the sky was
aglow in hues of pink and rose. The stark white
earth turned the drabness of the leafless trees into
dramatic silhouettes on the landscape. For those who
are keeping track, while this may be the first
significant snow of more than an inch or two, it is
also the ninth time snow has fallen in Lincoln this
winter.
