Last
week, the push was on to get the Mill on Route
66 ready for its grand opening. Among the final
touches at the Mill was the installation of a
new sign. For many years the signage in front of
the Mill reflected the Route 66 Heritage
Foundation and featured a thermometer signifying
the foundation was fundraising for the
restoration project. Last week that old sign
came down and a new one "The Mill on 66" took
its place.
It has taken more than a decade, but on Saturday
the Mill will open as a Route 66 Museum. A
ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at noon,
and the museum will be open to the public. There
will also be other events taking place including
live entertainment, food, and weather permitting
a parade.
